1. Fundraising Bright Spots: Growing legacy income, with Dr Claire Routley
Do you want to set up or further develop an legacy program? This podcast is an absolute must. Also for advanced legacy fundraisers it is always inspiring to listen to Dr. Claire Routley, one of thé experts in legacy fundraising. In this podcast she gives practical advice for creating a legacy proposition and message.
In this podcast, another coryphée of the profession shares his insights. Listen to Richard Radcliffe for his take on legacy fundraising. The nice thing about this podcast is that Richard doesn’t just talk about the UK sector but also about legacy fundraising in other countries.
The third expert you should definitely listen to is Prof Russell James. In his role of director of Graduate studies in Charitable Financial Planning at Texas Tech University, he worked on a lot of research about legacy giving. In this podcast he explains not only the results of his research, in which he even uses brain scanners to learn about the motivations of legacy giving, but also shares insights about legacy communication.
Ok this is not 100 % correct, because this is not one podcast but a whole series. Remember A Charity is the UK’s national campaign to promote legacy giving. To inspire legacy fundraisers and stimulate exchange, they have set up a podcast series. Not all episodes are relevant to continental European fundraisers, but a few episodes such as the one about Virtual Legacy Events or Legacy Stewardship are definitely worth listening to.
Not just one, but two podcasts from the Fundraising Bright Spots with Dr. Claire Routley are in our top 5. This podcast is super interesting, not only from a legacy fundraising but also from a change management perspective. An inspiring podcast about how to be a donor centered organisation that embraces legacy giving.
